Sein Verständnis des Menschen als in die Natur eingebundenes Naturwesen, das als solches (also nicht nur unter heilsgeschichtlichen Gesichtspunkten) zu erforschen sei, war richtungsweisend für die philosophische Anthropologie der Folgezeit.
