Tara D. Sonenshine (born 1959) was the Und … Tara D. Sonenshine (born 1959) was the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs from 2012 to 2013. She is now a Distinguished Fellow at the George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs. She was Senior Career Coach at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University from 2017 to 2020. Sonenshine began her broadcasting career by working for ABC News in New York. She worked as a reporter at the Pentagon for ABC News, and for more than a decade she was editorial producer of ABC News’ Nightline.
