Rodger Kamenetz prägte dabei den Ausdruck „Jubus“ als Ausdruck dieser zweifachen Identität. 1996 hatte er sich nach einem Zusammentreffen mit dem Dalai Lama in Dharamsala im Interfaith Action Network für die Befreiung des Panchen Lama eingesetzt.
