Der Skilanglaufmarathon Marcialonga führt von Moena über Canazei nach Cavalese über 70 Kilometer. Der höchste Punkt in Canazei liegt bei 1500 m s.l.m., während der tiefste Punkt bei etwa bei 800 m s.l.m. liegt. Beim Rennen ist ein Gesamthöhenunterschied von 886 Metern zu überwinden. Der Lauf wird im Hauptrennen in klassischer Technik durchgeführt. Er findet immer am letzten Sonntag im Januar statt. Neben dem Hauptrennen wird noch ein Marcialonga light über 45 Kilometer in klassischer Technik organisiert. Der erste Lauf fand im Jahr 1971 statt und wurde seitdem mit Ausnahme der Jahre 1975, 1989 und 1990 jährlich durchgeführt. Die Teilnehmerzahlen liegen meist bei über 4.000 Langläufern.
