La Fundación Comillas del Español y la Cul … La Fundación Comillas del Español y la Cultura Hispánica es una organización pública de naturaleza fundacional, sin fin de lucro. La Fundación Comillas, nace en diciembre del 2005 con la vocación de convertirse en una institución de referencia internacional en la formación, investigación y difusión de la lengua española y la cultura hispánica. Esta vocación sigue vigente, si bien es cierto que para adecuarse a las nuevas demandas necesita contribuir desde su territorio, Cantabria, y para el mundo con los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible. Con este nuevo enfoque, se redefine la misión de la Fundación Comillas como una institución cuyo objetivo principal es hacer de la cultura en español un motor para el desarrollo social y económico sostenible de la región, enfrentando el reto de la despoblación y asumiendo para ello un pacto por la educación, el conocimiento, la formación continua, la ciencia y la innovación. De la Fundación Comillas depende el CIESE, Centro Internacional de Estudios Superiores del Español (CIESE-Comillas), adscrito a la Universidad de Cantabria, en donde se pueden estudiar el Grado en Estudios Hispánicos, el Máster en ELE (Enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera), el Máster en Industrias Culturales Digitales y otros posgrados online relacionados con la enseñanza del español en las aulas. Comillas Foundation, established in 2005, is dedicated to promote Spanish language and Hispanic culture. The academic activities of Comillas Foundation (University Degree in Hispanic Studies and Master in Teaching Spanish as Foreign Language) are developed through the International Center for Higher Spanish Studies, associated to the University of Cantabria. Besides that, the foundation provides forums and seminars related with Spanish language and culture. Comillas Foundation headquarters is situated at the former Comillas Pontifical University building. Until now, the activities of the foundation were held at the , a few hundred yards from the future location, until the restoration of the buildings are concluded. From May 2010, Comillas’ Foundation activities take place in an historical building entirely renovated. Courses have been designed to satisfy the specific needs of the target groups, i.e. professionals and executives, companies, institutions, teachers, as well as adults and students of Spanish. The current Comillas Foundation Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is Mr. , formerly Head of Administration in the University of La Rioja, and before that, the Director General of Higher Education and Research in the Regional Government of Castile-La Mancha.
