Ben Solomon Stephansky (November 10, 1913 … Ben Solomon Stephansky (November 10, 1913 – April 17, 1999) was a Russian-born American diplomat. Referred to as “John F. Kennedy's Ambassador to Bolivia at a complex time in its history", he was Deputy United States Representative to the Organization of American States with the personal rank of Ambassador in 1967 and 1968. Stephansky was born in Kiev on November 10, 1913, and came to the United States in 1915. He grew up in Milwaukee. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1939, a master's degree and a Ph.D. in economics in 1950 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He died from lymphoma at his home in Washington, DC, on April 17, 1999, at the age of 85., DC, on April 17, 1999, at the age of 85.
